Description of the Masonic Collection

The Liberas Masonic Library preserves one of the most important public research collections on Freemasonry in Flanders. The collection brings together the historical libraries of the Grand Lodge of Belgium, La Liberté, Labyrint, ADAMM, and Liberas itself. It comprises books, journals, pamphlets, proceedings and other printed material documenting the history, philosophy, rituals, symbolism and cultural impact of Freemasonry in Belgium and beyond. The library is intended primarily for researchers and complements the archival and heritage collections preserved by Liberas. In addition to its library collections, Liberas also preserves the archives of several Masonic lodges from Ghent.

Size of the Collection

Approximately 4,200 books and 85 linear metres of archival records.
